Leslie Beth "Rose" Hardin

Leslie Beth “Rose” Anderson Kelly Hardin, born December 26, 1959, in New Haven, CT to Robert Anderson and Betty Veith Miller, passed away in Hamden, CT on January 13, 2024. She moved to Tennessee with her family in 1994 and was a long-time resident of Scotts Hill, TN. Leslie was a truck driver for over 30 years, where everyone knew her as Rose. She graduated from Hamden High School in 1977, loved The Grateful Dead and steeplechasing/jump racing horses. In her later years, she enjoyed traveling, skydiving, cooking, and baking with her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie “Mr. Ed” Hardin, a sister, Cynthia Shaver, and her stepfather, John Miller. She is survived by two sons, Robert (Emily) Kelly of Hohenwald, TN and Peter Kelly of Seattle, WA; one step-son, Rodney (Missi) Hardin of Lexington, TN; four daughters, Jennifer (Jason) Clendenion of Only, TN, Alexandra Carrington of Scotts Hill, TN, Hillary (Pete) O’Connor of Fulton, MS, and Megan (Matthew) Holmes of Parsons, TN; two step-daughters, Amy (Davy) McCollum of Lexington, TN and Candace Hardin of Lexington, TN; twenty-two grandchildren, Summer and Sabella Kelly, Sara (Landon) Anthony, Bailey and Shelby Clendenion, Jason and Haylee Duncan, Levi Carrington, Gage and Amelia O’Connor, Bronson and Jackson Holmes, Kaitlyn, Kayla and Kaleb Hardin, Elizabeth, Bailey, Josh, and Johnathon McCollum, Zachery Hurt, Kylee Hardin and Drake Lindsey; one great-grandson, Adam Sampson; brother, James Anderson of Hamden, CT; sister, Katherine (Jim) Smerekanych of Meriden, CT; a beloved mother-in-law, Allene Kelly of Bethany, CT; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins. At her request, there will be a graveside service at Ridge Grove Cemetery, in Lexington, TN, with Bro. Dave Stewart officiating, where she will be laid to rest next to her late husband, on Wednesday, January 24, 2024, at 1:00pm, to be followed with a gathering at Ridge Grove Baptist Church for friends and family. A memorial will take place in CT at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to The Comfort Peer Center in Lexington. Reed’s Chapel, Lexington, TN and Beecher & Bennett, Hamden, CT will be in charge of arrangements.
