Donald Gene Fields, age 84, of Lexington passed away Tuesday November 12,2019 at his home. He was retired from the United States Air Force with 21 years of service and served in Vietnam. After service he moved to Denver and was employed by Gates Rubber Co. He met his future wife Ellen in 1983 and they married in 1997. He was an avid fisherman, gardener, lover of animals and country music and dancing. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Perkins Fields, 3 sons, David (Tammy) Fields of Carlyle,Il., Richard (Beverly) Fields of Hollister,Mo., and Danny Fields of Branson,MO., 2 step-daughters, Kristine (Mike) Northrop and Brigid Butler both of Minneapolis,MN., a sister Helen Chasteen of Dexter,MO., 11 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren, and a very special niece Brooke Kreger of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents William and Lydia Fields, 2 sons Marcus and Dennis Fields, and 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Funeral services will be on Friday November 15 at 3PM at Reeds Chapel with visitation from 1PM until service. Burial will be on Saturday November 16 at 11:30 AM at the Malden Memorial Park in Malden,MO. with military honors. The family would like to say a very special thanks to the caregivers at Unity Hospice.
