Rebecca Ann Odle Lindsey

August 31, 1943 - April 10, 2022

Rebecca Ann Odle Lindsey, “Grannie Annie”, born August 31, 1943 and was called home after a long illness April 10th, 2022. She is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Gordon Lindsey; parents, the late Preston and Rebecca Odle; 1 brother, Bobby Odle; and 3 sisters, Patty Sue McCollum, Stella Nichols, and Carol Odle. She is survived by her sons, Clay Lindsey (Regena) of Union City, TN and Steve Lindsey (Melissa) of Lexington, TN; two grandsons Hunter Lindsey (Ashley) and Austin Lindsey of Union City, TN. Two granddaughters, Gretta Massey and Whitney Bingham (Corey) of Lexington, TN; and five great-grandchildren, Tegan Lindsey, Logan Elmore, Preston and Cooper Bingham, and Scarlett Massey; a very special friend, LuNell Brasher; and several cousins, nieces and nephews, and many friends that she knew as family. Mrs. Lindsey grew up in Lexington, TN and lived her life in the Oak Grove Community, where she raised a family. Ann retired from AT&T. She was a long-time member of First Baptist Church where she and Gordon served in the nursing home ministry. Ann had a wonderful love for Jesus and a great knowledge of the word. She was very courageous, and her faith carried her through. Her greatest joy was her family and Big Red Sports. She loved going to the beach and Smokey Mountains with Gordon and her family. She raised two fine men and spent her life following them in their every endeavor. She was their #1 Fan, #1 Cheerleader, #1 Mom and her husbands’ best friend. Ann was a lifetime Big Red Tiger fan! Her love for Football could be heard every Friday night on the radio. You could hear her cheering while they were announcing the game. Ann and Gordon were a Tennessee Vol fans and had many wonderful memories attending UT Football games. Ann loved every sport and she was unique that she could watch sports 24/7 and could give you all the details. She continued her legacy watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren play sports. She never gave up going even if she was rolled in, always with excitement and a smile for being there. Visitation will be at Reeds Chapel, Wednesday, April 13th, from 4 pm until 8 pm. Visitation at First Baptist Church – Lexington, Thursday, April 14, at 10 am until time for the service at 2 pm.
