April 3, 1932 - October 21, 2021
Wilma Sue Moffitt, née Stanfill, of Lexington, Tennessee, [89], passed away on October 21, 2021. Wilma, born April 3, 1932, was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who always made others feel comfortable and welcomed. She worked as a beautician for a number of years, including doing hair and makeup for the Miss Tennessee pageant. For over three decades, she balanced being a mother with working at Stanfill Hardware, Lexington Pawn Shop, and then as assistant to the Henderson County Purchasing Agent. She is survived by her beloved husband Norris Moffitt, to whom she was happily married for 65 years. She is also survived by her two treasured children, son Jay (wife Shoghik Hanissian-Moffitt) and daughter Jennifer "Jenny," both of Memphis, Tennessee; and her only granddaughter, Alexandra (fiancé Allen Haus). She found joy in her children's and granddaughter's career successes - her daughter Jenny is a payroll specialist and her son and granddaughter are both attorneys. Mrs. Moffitt is also survived by her brother Bennie Stanfill and numerous nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hicks and Drexel Stanfill, and siblings Frank Stanfill, Bill Stanfill and Woody Stanfill. Services will take place on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Reeds Chapel, Lexington, TN. Visitation is at 2 pm, chapel services are at 3 pm , and the burial will take place at 4 pm. We will always carry your memory in our hearts.
