Linda Faye Mullins Coleman

On May 7, 2026, after a battle with ovarian cancer, Linda Faye Mullins Coleman went to her Heavenly home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Linda peacefully departed this earth from her home surrounded by her husband, children, family, and friends who loved her dearly. Linda was born on May 30,1946 in Lexington, TN to the late Thompsie and Vesta Mullins. Surviving Linda is her husband of 62 years, Eddie Coleman, Jr. Their time together has been a true example of Godly love, respect, and total support for one another. Linda is also survived by her children Karen Coleman Miller (David), Rev. Kenneth Edward (Buddy) Coleman (Denise) and her very special niece and nephews; Jo Ann Mullins Hudson (Brian), Jimmy Dalton Mullins (Shanda), and Thomas Lee Mullins. She was an amazing Nana to 11 grandchildren: Benjamin Edward Coleman (Lindsey), Matthew Rowan Coleman, Elizabeth Grace Coleman, Cody Elmore (Megan), Erica Biggs, Elijah David Miller, Christopher Dalton Byrd, Haley Brook Byrd, Eli Reid Hudson, Lauren Mullins (Chris Johnson), and Russell Mullins along with six great grandchildren: Scottie and Annie Coleman, Mykah Johnson, Rocky Wilson, Emma and Easton Biggs, as well as two special honorary grandchildren Colt and Lillie Oliver. She is also loved and survived by many other nephews and nieces. Linda also leaves behind two precious sisters; Helen Burnine Meals and Peggy Mullins Oliver (Frank). Linda was preceded in death by her brothers Joe Mullins, Jack Mullins, and Dalton Mullins and by her sister Betsy Clay Mullins Todd. Heaven received Linda just a few days before her celebration of 80 incredible years. She lived a full active life trying to bless others along her way. She was a faithful member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, and she loved missionary work. Linda and Eddie traveled many miles sharing the gospel of the Good News of God’s salvation plan. She looked forward each year to teaching the children in Vacation Bible School. For years, Linda was Eddie’s partner in youth and music ministry, and in her later years, she was very much involved in Senior Adult Ministry at several nursing homes. Linda was an auxiliary member of the International Gideons placing Bibles in hospitals, schools, and prisons. She was a dedicated and committed volunteer to 4-H programs developing young leaders, even traveling to Canada with local National 4-H club winners. Linda volunteered and worked as an election voting station leader for several years. She was a TSSAA sports official referee for Basketball and an umpire for Softball. Linda was an avid fan and follower of the Lexington Lady Tigers, the Union University Bulldogs, and the UT Lady Vols. She loved traveling, meeting new people, and seeing new places. Linda especially loved to visit antique stores. For years, she scheduled road trips driving across the country with her sisters to visit family and friends. These road trips generated thousands of memories over thousands of miles, plus she came home with a few new antiques. Known to most as Nana or Aunt Linda, her home was the family’s gathering place for barbeque and lake days on the 4th of July, turkey feasts on Thanksgiving Day, the tradition of hog jowl and black-eyed peas on New Years Day, numerous birthday and graduation celebrations, and some very heated Rook tournaments with family. She loved hosting, cooking, playing games, and spending time with her family, who was her pride and joy. A Celebration of her life and home going will be held at Reeds Funeral Home at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 9th with the visitation from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Friday, May 8th and from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on the day of the service. Graveside service will be immediately following at the Mullins family cemetery. Pall Bearers - Jimmy Mullins, Tommy Mullins, Mark Oliver, Elijah Miller, David Miller, Brian Hudson, Matt Coleman, Ben Coleman, Larry Mullins, and Gary Mullins, Blessing her departure and journey to heaven will be Pastor Kenny Scott from Rock Hill Baptist Church, Pastor Marty Comer from Sand Ridge Baptist Church, Pastor Ken Coleman from Temple Baptist Church, and Dr. Hoyt Wilson. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital
