Sara Frances Thomas

Sara Thomas was born on January 2, 1938 in Lexington TN and died peacefully on July 17th, 2026 surrounded by those who loved her most. Sara is preceded in death by her parents Raymond and Edith Powers and a grandson son-in-law Tbo Ott. She is survived by her devoted husband of 71 years, Billy Bob Thomas. A daughter Kim Baudo (Bob). Two grandchildren, Brooke Ott (Tbo) and Thomas Baudo (Jordan) Four great grandchildren: Elise Ott, Preston Ott, Margaret Jane Baudo and Ellen Sara Baudo. Two Sisters: Linda Johnson, Barbara McLamb (Don). One Brother: Tim Powers (Jane) Four nieces, Jeanna Threadgill (Reid), Donna Bowyer (Carl), Pam Freeman ((Mark), Paige Wessel (Brett Great Nieces: Kate McPeake (Brandon), Roan Wessel Great Nieces and Nephews; John Threadgill, John Freeman, Bennett Freeman (Erin), Knox Threadgill, Harrison McPeake, Charlotte McPeake, Cal Freeman. The family wishes to express their gratitude for her special caregivers and friends, Mary Sego and Beth Small. Sara was a member of Lexington First Baptist Church where she taught The Lazarus Sunday School class for many years as well as Sunday School at Rockhill Baptist Church. A woman of unwavering faith and quiet strength, she dedicated her life to caring for her family. Her wit and wisdom left a lasting impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Sara was an avid fan of southern Gospel music, Nascar and the Dallas Cowboys. She treasured time spent with her loved ones and found joy in life’s simple blessings. Whether gathered around the dinner table, celebrating holidays, sharing stories, or simply enjoying the company of family and friends, Sara made every moment special. Her wisdom, grace, and unconditional love will continue to guide those she leaves behind. Sara’s legacy lives on through her family and all whose lives she touched. She will be remembered for her compassion, resilience, and the love she freely shared throughout her 88 years. Services will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2026 at Reed’s Chapel at 3PM with burial to follow in the Rock Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12PM until the time of service. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” ‭‭2 Timothy 4:7 Sara will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
